Martin Robert was born in Montreal, (Quebec) Canada. He found his passion for music at a young age. In 1989, at the tender age of 11, he began with classical piano lessons. From 1989 to 1993, he studied with Pierre McClure. Hesitating between the piano and the guitar, he decides to follow his real passion for the blues and chooses the guitar.
From 1993 to 1995, he took guitar lessons with Serge Poirier and Jérôme Vanier. Improving his guitar playing skills he was then, ready to study music at College. He started in the music department at the Marie Victorin College in 1996, studying jazz guitar.
He graduated in 1998 and then decided to change direction, going to l'École des Métiers de la Construction in Montreal to study metal work. Graduating in 2000 and then in 2003 from industrial maintenance, like Frédéric, who also graduated from this school, he returned to his first love, music.
From 1998 to 2000, he took part at the festival Maximum Blues of Carleton in Gaspésie. He appeared on 3 live compilations of the festival. During the same period, he was a member of the EMCM Blues Band.
In 2002, supported by 3 other experienced musicians, he founded the group Eretik, a blues rock band. Martin is a multitalented musician (playing piano as a child, playing electric bass, a singer and a guitarist in several groups) who has a solid musical education but also the instinct to move us.
In 2003, he joined a popular tribute to the legendary group, Genesis and begins a series of concerts with them.
At the end of 2004, Martin joins the band and begins the pre-production for the second album of Addicted Bones.
Martin is surely, a talented musician but he’s also a profound and an extremely sensitive person. He’s an amazing performer which is like an outlet for him.
