A n n i e  S a u m u r

Annie Saumur was born in Hull, (Quebec) Canada.
She had an agent during the time she was in high school, she was working for Catherine Mensour agency in Ottawa.. She appeared in 2 television productions. She worked also for an illusionist and appeared on Home Grown Cafe television show.

When she was 17 years old, she moved to St-Therese in Quebec where she studied letter and theater at St-Therese College. She was a model for a painter artist and sculptor during this time.

In July 1994, she played at the Canada Day, the opening show for Roch Voisine and France D’Amour. She played in other bands before the formation of Addicted Bones. She was part of a band called “Zone” and another one called “Karma”. 

In 1994, she moved to Montreal to finish her studies in art at St-Laurent College. After she graduated, she studied in jazz singing at St-Laurent College for 2 years. She was playing at “L’Air du temps” a very popular jazz bar in the old Montreal. She played for the St-Jean celebration at the prison of Bordeaux. She met Jano Bergeron and did some backing vocals for her show. She’s 20 years old as she portrays the role of Méthylène in the rock opera Les Pantomimes by Pierre D. Labelle. A very powerful and tragic role but extremely sensitive and profound.

When she finished school in 1998, she joined the Shawn Moore album project. She also made a small north tour with the Shawn Moore band. She played with a lot of musicians and started to prepare the material for Addicted Bones.

In 2000, she had her first European tour with C.F.show tour. She played in 5 camps in Bosnia, Velika Kladusa, Coralici, Zgon, Drvar and Temislavgrad. She also went to Croatia. She was touring with the top harmonisist Mike Stevens. The violinist, David Pichette, was also on this tour with her. She had also a north tour in Alert, North Pole and in Goose Bay, Labrador. This tour changed her life she said, she was inspired by Mike Stevens, Matthew Woodward and Spencer Evens and when she came back, she started the Addicted Bones band with the other musicians.

In 2002, she recorded her first promotional album at Victor Studio with sound engineer, Daniel Ste-Marie.

Annie writes most of Addicted Bones’ lyrics and all the melodies but the music was written by Shawn Lalonde, Martin Robert, Martin Mantha and Paskal Thériault. She’s a very charismatic singer, passionate and extremely intense on stage.
